AIA FVG ENGLISH COURSES and MEMBERSHIP

SUMMER STEAM Full Immersion English Mornings for kids start the week of June 19th.  Registration is Open and Space is limited.  Here is the link to the Summer STEAM Schedule.   4 Weeks for Pre-K, Elementary, Middle and High School. You can take just 1 week or as many weeks as you like.  Great for Native Speakers too!

YOU CAN BECOME A MEMBER AT ANY TIME OF YEAR! Membership is annual and valid until August 31, 2017.  You must be a Member to take Classes at AIA FVG.  Membership is also valid for entry to the American Film Series, to check out books, DVDs and magazines, and to attend some member only events.  Here is the Membership Form.  Membership fees:  €25 – Ridotto for Students 16 and over, Teachers and 65 and over.  €35 – Intero.

3D PRINTER and SCANNER – Our Maker Space is now complete with a 3D Printer.  Now we need some tech volunteers.  Send us an email!

LA DONNA DELLA MIA VITA – le Vie delle FotoApril 1- 30, 2017
A Trieste / Philadelphia collaborative exhibit by High School Students.  For the third consecutive year, we are participating in the citywide Photographic Exhibit.  The Exhibit is open to the Public during the month of April during our office hours.  More news at this LINK.  Many thanks to Erin Russo, Erin McKinney, Shenai Hicks and Donna Russo for making this happen! Made possible thanks to the support of the U.S. Embassy to Italy.

LOOKING AHEAD TO GLOW –24 hour Sleepover for Middle and High School Girls
May 6-7, 3pm-3pm.  The second year of G.L.O.W – Girls Leading Our World.  24 hours of girl power, mentoring, learning, fun.  Lead by a team of Super Women. Registration DEADLINEApril 21, 2017 at 7 p.m.  Limited number of participants.  Register Early! More news HERE.

Wow! A fun event to be repeated next year!  Congratulations to all our participants.  11 different Chilis by chefs of all ages, and a panel of expert Judges.  Kudos to the 1st Place Winner:  El Diablo by Andie, 2nd Place:  It’s really Chili by Julie and 3rd Place: Mamma Mia by John and Marianna.  Photos of the event at this LINK.  Now you have an entire year to perfect your new recipe for the 2018 edition.

VOLUNTEERS
We are a Volunteer Run Non-Profit Association.
Volunteers run our Library, American Corner Programs and Activities.  We are looking for Volunteers to Mentor and Manage the Teen Club, Assist with the Nati per Leggere program, Work at the Cinema, Help with our Morning Activities.  Send us an email.  We’ll find a role for you.  University of Trieste students in Humanities or P.R. can earn Internship Credit Hours with us (CFU).   We accept students with a minimum of 75 hours (3 CFU).  You'll have a great experience and improve your English, while you learn valuable people skills. Contact us!  aia.fvg@gmail.com 
 AMERICAN CORNER TRIESTE – Programs, consultation of the library, public internet access computers, and Wi-Fi are always free and open to the public.  A great place to study, meet friends, bring your kids.  The US Department of State has granted us a Gold Standard rating in terms of programs, facilities, services! In addition to our regular library, we also feature an Education Advising Section, Children’s Corner Library and Women’s Space.  Consult our on line catalog of Books and DVDs.

The American Corner also offers English and Life Skills Courses for Refugees thanks to a U.S. Government Grant.
