The true story of Barbara Conrad Smith, a gifted mezzo soprano at the University of Texas in 1957. She found herself in the middle of a Civil Rights battle, when the University was forced by the Texas legislature to cancel her from the leading role because she was Afro-American. Ms. Conrad Smith went on to sing leading roles in major opera companies around the world including the Metropolitan Opera and the Vienna Opera. 73 minutes.
