Thurs. Feb. Mar. 2
10 am - Mom & Baby Playdate in English

10 am - Maker Space - make it, sew it, fix it with friends.  We're learning how to Knit Hats and Sew..  Learn how to sew or knit.  Teach someone how to knit / sew.  We have 3 Singer Sewing Machines, Knitting Needles and Craft Materials.

10 am - Survival Italian for Adults - not a formal Class, but a a way for you to learn what you need to get by. 

1:30, 4, 6:30, 9 pm - The Witch: A New-England Folktale - Film in the American Film Series at Teatro dei Fabbri.   AIA FVG Members Only.

5 pm - AC - TC - American Corner Teen Club.  Making, Creating, Hanging Out in English

Mon. Feb. 20th
10 am and 1 pm FILM - THE BLIND SIDE - For Black History Month
Shows in English at 10 am and 1 pm at American Corner Trieste.  
Free and Open to the Public.

Tues. Feb. 21st 
10 am - Mom & Baby Survival Italian - Just arrived in Trieste, don't speak much Italian, You are Italian, are home with your baby and want to meet other Moms?  Come on down and bring the baby.

10 am - Short Story Club - We'll discuss  Desegregating College Football.  USC Trojan Football Team, 1970 by Jason Lewis, LA Sentinel.     The story behind the winning team that broke the color barrier in college football.

Chili Cook Off - March 10, 2017

YOU ARE INVITED to a CHILI COOK OFF.
AIA FVG Members and their Families ONLY

Bring it on! Let's see who can make the best chili. Be creative! Be spicy, just don't be late.

March 10, 2017, 7 - 9 p.m. at Associazione Italo Americana FVG

PREPAID REGISTRATION CONTRIBUTION REQUIRED:
Deadline:  March 3, 2017.
Chili Maker Participants
- No Donation
Chili Eaters - €7 Donation per person to cover expenses.  (Children under 12 - Free of Charge)

AIA FVG will supply non-alcoholic beverages, bread and plates, silverware, glasses, napkins. BYOB if you want Beer or Wine.

PRIZES:
  • Certificates and American Cooking School Aprons for ALL Participants.
  • 1st Prize:  2 tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters in Trieste on March 29th and Hot Sauce
  • 2nd Prize: Joy of Cooking Cookbook and Hot Sauce
  • 3rd Prize: An AIA FVG Logo Cup and Hot Sauce
Chili Cook-off Guidelines
  • Chili is to be prepared in advance at home.
  • Chili Cooks must arrive 1 hour before competition to set up  (arrive at 6:00 p.m.).  
  • Once judging starts late entries will not be permitted, judging will begin promptly.
  • The Name of your Chili and a List of ingredients must be posted with your chili as well as its hotness (i.e. mild, medium, hot, super hot).
  • Keep the name of your chili a secret until after all judging is completed.  Making your chili name known is an automatic disqualification. Feel free to be creative with your name and chili ingredient sign as long as it does not give your identity away.
  • Judging will be by a panel. Panel judges will remain a secret until it is time for them to judge.

Leonardo Buonomo

Congratulations to Professor Leonardo Buonomo, President of the Associazione Italo Americana FVG!
He was recently elected to 3 important positions in the Henry James Society
Secretary/ Treasurer for 2017, Vice-President for 2018, and President for 2019.

Henry James was an American-born British writer. He is regarded as one of the key figures of 19th-century literary realism.
